I made three of these dresses, because they look more complicated to make than they really are. This is black linen with a bit of sashiko stitching - cool to wear in summer or over a tee shirt when the temperatures go down.

Requirements

My machine cover needed approx 0.4 metres of 120 cm ( half yard of 45 inch) wide fabric. (Re-cycle a pillowcase for a small machine!). Make a paper pattern on newspaper or draw directly onto fabric with tailors chalk or water erasable pen (but don't cut the fabric until you've added seam allowance!)
