Hand-stitch around edges with running stitch using thick embroidery cotton.  Alternatively for a neater, sturdier applique, you may prefer to machine stitch the edge with a straight stitch, zig-zag or satin stitch.

You can personalise your applique with a letter, as shown in the first photo of this slideshow.  Trace any letter onto the non-glue, "lunchwrap" side of your Vliesofix and follow the method shown previously. Make sure you flip your traced letter to a mirror image before you cut it out in fabric.  Otherwise your appliqued letter may appear to be reversed!
